𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗠𝗜𝗧 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
At RMIT, accessibility for students with disabilities is our priority as we work continuously to remove all possible barriers so that everyone is empowered equally to reach their potential. Acknowledged annually on 3 December, 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗜𝗗𝗣𝗪𝗗) raises awareness and promotes the rights and wellbeing of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development.
Today, we encourage our students to learn more about how we support ones with disabilities to achieve their potentials at RMIT.
✨ The Equitable Learning Services (ELS) at RMIT provide support and equal opportunities for students with a disability, long-term illness and/or mental health condition and primary carers of individuals with a disability. By registering with ELS, RMIT students with disabilities will meet with ELS advisors to discuss and create their individual learning plan.
✨ With the guidance from ELS, we adjust students’ learning plan in order to help those with disabilities fully comprehend and achieve learning outcomes. The learning materials will be converted into different formats to students’ study conditions. There are Student-Aid staff and assistive technology available at ELS to support our students with disabilities.
✨ More importantly, at RMIT, we respect individual differences, and we understand that there is a variety of disabilities and some of which might be unfamiliar with the public. It’s important to understand each student’s situation and study condition to support them.
